Vince Dhimos answered a question at Quora.
Q: What is the Iran policy in the Middle East?

Well it is not what the US warmongers claim it is.
While US propaganda claims the Iranian armed forces are terrorists (BTW, Europe, Russia and China do not make this claim), Shiite-majority Iran has mostly just opposed and fought the Sunni (Wahhabist) terrorists originally sponsored clandestinely by the US and its allies (as explained here https://www.quora.com/Are-there-any-sources-for-American-involvement-in-the-Middle-East-since-9-11-It-s-for-a-paper/answer/Vince-Dhimos).
If an independent observer from another planet with no ties to either side were to investigate, they would find that the US is the terrorist and Iran is fighting terror – as it has done for years in Syria and Iraq.
But the US State Department uses lies and false arguments to make it appear that the US is the good guy and Iran is the bad guy. If Iran were the bad guy for real, Russia would have nothing to do with it. But Russia considers Iran an ally. This should be sufficient reason for Americans to doubt their government’s anti-Iran stance.
While Shiite Iran has never used terror to force its religion on others in the way that Sunni terrorists have, merely to bully others into accepting Shiism, there are two reasons why the US pretends that Iran is an enemy, and those two reasons are US allies:
I explained in the article linked below the reasons why these two countries wield formidable political power over the US, making a mockery of the claim that the US is a “democracy”: https://www.quora.com/Which-of-the-USAs-global-interventions-were-purely-well-motivated/answer/Vince-Dhimos
Currently, of the two, Israel is the one applying more pressure for war on Iran (since the missile attack on Saudi Aramco, Saudi has simmered down, fearing retaliation by Iran). But in both countries, religion is the main motivator. In the case of Saudi, the royals are waging war on the Shiite world not because Shiites are trouble makers, but in fact for the opposite reason. The Saudis just generally deem Shiites heretics – something you might think is nonsense and should not be taken seriously by a supposedly secular region like the West, which is reputed to be “Christian” but whose foreign policy clearly supports Sunni Wahhabism even as it pretends to be fighting terror.
As for Israel, the US policy rationale is both Evangelical (though not genuinely Christian) and Judaic (but not genuinely so – many Orthodox Jews reject Israeli policy and even its right to exist as a nation), but if we accept the premise that Christianity is a religion derived from the Bible, and particularly the New Testament, we find that “Christian” Zionists (about 80% of US Evangelicals), who are the driving force of US foreign policy from the grassroots (and the biggest voting bloc behind Trump’s election), derive their beliefs from an obvious careless misreading of the scriptures https://www.quora.com/Why-does-the-United-states-hold-unwavering-support-for-Israel-and-not-Palestine/answer/Vince-Dhimos. And as for Israel itself, its existence is premised 100% on the belief that God gave Israel the land of Palestine, but without considering that, according to abundant Torah (Old Testament) scripture, God drove the Hebrews out of that land on several occasions as punishment for their disobedience, and nowhere in the scriptures does He concede that they have become obedient and hence worthy to return. That is the sticking point, but virtually the entire West has succumbed to the notion that anyone pointing to these portions of the scripture is somehow “anti-Semitic.” This is the height of absurdity, making certain portions of the Judaic scriptures taboo when in fact, they are part and parcel of the Christian Bible and of Judaism. But when it comes to shielding the Western mind against uncomfortable truth, no job is too daunting for the Judeo-Christian censors.
As for Saudi, foreign and war policy boils down to the fact that Sunni Wahhabists insist all Muslims must be Sunni or die. (Let me be clear: Most Sunnis are more tolerant of Shiites and other religions than Saudi, but the US has long shielded the country from criticism. But this shielding has in fact made Saudi and Israel more vulnerable by rallying the people it has antagonized).
So for years, America has been fighting religious wars in the Middle East, promoting religious beliefs that are diametrically opposed to the teachings of Christ and of the Torah. Of course, to disguise this uncomfortable fact, the Establishment media and government always feed the public a far-fetched narrative, such as the WMD story regarding Iraq or the assertion of an intel report based on zero evidence, such as the story of an “imminent” attack on US embassies as a pretext to murder Soleimani. (The word “imminent” is always a clue that the government is pulling your leg).
And you thought religious wars were a thing of the Dark Ages!
