Vince Dhimos answered an incredibly naive question at Quora.
https://www.quora.com/Does-Trumps-pro-Russian-anti-NATO-and-anti-CIA-stance-mean-he-would-have-supported-the-Soviets-and-the-KGB-during-the-Cold-War/answer/Vince-Dhimos Does Trump's pro-Russian, anti-NATO, and anti-CIA stance mean he would have supported the Soviets and the KGB during the Cold War? Vince Dhimos Geopolitical Analyst at New Silk Strategies (2016–present) Trump may have paid lip service to a “pro-Putin” sentiment during his election campaign, but he has done absolutely nothing pro-Russian since he took office, quite the opposite. For political reasons, he did everything in his power to prove to his Democrat accusers that he was an enemy of Russia. It was cowardly of him because he could have used his bully pulpit to stand up to the Democrats and could have made deals with Russia beneficial to the US and the world, but he lacked both the courage and the intelligence to do so and threw away 4 years pretending to be a Russophobe. All he did was play politics and got nothing done toward world peace, in fact to the contrary, he created chaos everywhere because he had no vision or intelligence and no inner strength and courage. For example, he could have led by working with Russia to rid Syria and Iraq of the scourge of terrorism but instead his troops blocked the movements of the Russians and their Syrian allies. Worse, he admitted publicly that his real goal was to steal the oil desperately needed by the war-ravaged Syrian people for their human needs and to rebuild their country. And for good measure, he imposed inhuman sanctions on Syria for the express purpose of preventing it from rebuilding – all the while representing publicly the absurd claim that Russia was the aggressor in Syria. Further, he sided with the terror-supporting Turkish invaders in Syria even though they opposed the interests of the US and Europe. This lack of leadership caused the mess we see in Libya today, where Faez Serraj openly tolerates black slavery (ironically with the blessings of the US Democratic party, which pretends to care about US blacks but turns a blind eye to black slavery in Africa.) If Trump had wanted to do the right thing, he would have distinguished himself from the Democrats instead of bending to their will to the detriment of peace. He had only one goal, and that was to get re-elected, and at this point, ironically, that may be a bridge too far. Imagine. He spent 4 years pretending to be something he wasn’t for the privilege of having another 4 years to do the same thing, and now that privilege may be denied him. In other words, he spent 4 years doing nothing for nothing. But after all, he ran on a platform of peace and, in order to please his enemies on the Hill, feared to make good on that promise. So now he has foolishly lost his own sympathizers and thrown himself to the Democrat wolves. As it turns out, he was a mediocre politician and a totally incompetent, and spineless, fighter. Under Trump, the US and its partners sanctioned Russia for allegedly poisoning Sergey Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury, England, but without a stitch of evidence. The US accused, arrested, tried and imprisoned a young Russian student, and prominent idealist, Maria Butina, for a “crime” that the Trump Justice Department invented and could not cogently enunciate, simply because she joined the US National Rifle Association and enthusiastically supported its work. She spent 1.5 years of her young life, much of it in cruel solitary confinement for a crime that could best be described as being publicly Russian in America. And the so-called pro-Russian Trump cowered in the White House never daring to utter a word in her defence. To prove that he wasn’t pro-Russian, he thought he had to do something deeply immoral. It was not his inclinations toward Russia but his lack of morality that brought him down. (I'm not saying he will lose in November. I'm saying it won't matter if he wins or loses. America will not benefit. He is a virtual clone of Biden). Trump has refused to continue the START talks, and this has doomed Russia – and the US – to continue a costly arms race. Trump also has done everything in his power to stop the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project in an effort to ruin the Russian economy, another morally unjustifiable action. As soon as the new 3rd party sanctions were in place, all the players in the project were forced to drop out, costing Russia billions of dollars. The main player, the Swiss company Allseas, had to stop laying the pipe – after it was almost completed, costing that company and all investors millions. Fortunately, Russia happened to have two old pipelaying ships, the Akademik Chersky and the Fortuna, but they are capable of only working at anchor, lacking the ability to dynamically stand still while working. This forced Russia to renegotiate with Denmark, which had odd safety regulations, and been extremely reluctant, for political reasons, to grant the necessary rights for the project to its national waters in the Baltic. Given the extreme hostility generated by the US toward the project, Russia is forced to send 2 warships to accompany the laying of the pipes, for fear of sabotage. Russia broke no laws and harmed no one in implementing the project, and Trump knew that quite well, but, as indicated above, this man, who is said by prominent US Evangelicals to have been appointed by God, is known not to be led by principles. He simply has none. Spirituallly discerning leaders would know that, but there are none. The Trump-led NATO has pulled 12,000 troops out of Germany and sent 1,000 additional troops to Poland in a deal negotiated between Trump and President Duda. You need to understand that this is tantamount to Russia’s sending thousands of troops to Cuba, for example. It is a senseless form of intimidation because Russia has never shown any signs of invading Poland or any other Baltic country. In fact, I had shown at Quora that: Russia has never been the aggressor and has always been a defender of the downtrodden and that the US is always the aggressor, having slaughtered at least 10 MILLION mostly civilians and killed and abused hundreds of thousands more with sanctions, support for “moderate” terrorists and coups d’état (that is an all-time world record for mass murder): https://www.quora.com/How-does-a-country-like-Russia-which-GDP-based-on-totally-natural-reserves-low-technology-screw-up-population-meddle-in-the-affair-of-other-countries-Moldova-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Syria-or-say-other-Shouldnt-Western/answer/Vince-Dyshimos and that US-led NATO has acted as a de facto enemy of Europe while pretending to “defend” the continent: https://www.quora.com/Why-hasn-t-NATO-evaluated-its-peacekeeping-experience-to-identify-and-implement-best-practices-for-transitioning-failed-states-into-functional-democracy/answer/Vince-Dhimos Under Trump, NATO constantly harasses Russia with military drills at its border while NATO and US top commanders constantly issue threats, such as publicly floating a plan to invade Kaliningrad and the constant allegation that Russia is an “adversary” but without any adequate explanation for this absurdity. The only thing the US has offered Russia under Trump is sanctions and threats, no negotiations for better relations or arms control. And you claim Trump is pro-Russian? Now is a good time to remind you that reading US news outlets and listening to US politicians is a danger to your mental health and intellectual development.
