Jesus was a kind of legal scholar comparable to a constitutional expert. His constitution was headed by the commandment of love, the framework for all other statutes. This fact is best illustrated by the conversation He had with a Jewish legal scholar. Luke (KJV) 25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. 28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. My focus here is not the words of Jesus but rather the words of the Jewish legal expert. Here was a religious Jew whose views were eye to eye the same as Christ’s. This goes to show that Jesus was not in any way staking out a new religion, just placing the emphasis of the Jewish faith where it belonged, on love. The religion that he originally intended to teach was Judaism (of course, minus the Talmud, which did not yet exist in written form), not Christianity. It was not until Christ told his disciples to minister to the Gentiles that His teachings took on the aspect of a new religion that was eventually called Christianity, and then simply because it took on a universal character, with salvation being available to non-Jews, but only because the Jews had rejected Him. Thus, the Gentiles were not part of the original plan. You can tell your Jewish friends that His salvation is still available to them and that they don’t have to give up their belief in the Torah, which is part of the Christian Bible. Tell them the least safe place in the world for a Jew is Israel, and not because Muslims are evil but because Israel was founded by immorally evicting the people who lived there – about 800,000 of them, in a way that is in no way sanctioned by God, who had evicted the Jews from there over 2,000 years ago for the sin of disobedience, a sin for which they have never atoned. Therefore, the land they claim is not theirs. Their true homelands are the European lands they left to go to Israel and they need to reclaim their rights to return to the places in Germany, France, Spain, England, Russia and so on, that they or their ancestors left (but optionally the US). But they cannot bully the natives of those places. God has forbidden that in the Torah. They need to obey the laws of their adoptive countries, as the Torah commands. You can boldly tell them that Jesus was right when He taught them how to obey the Hebrew God’s commandments and had they obeyed, the secular Israel would have been spared the agony of regular mortar and rocket attacks from the people whose land they had stolen. The Palestinians were no saints but you don’t have to be a saint to enjoy the protection of the law governing ownership. All commentaries on this topic are avidly and widely read by Westerners because the topic itself is virtually forbidden, beyond political incorrectness, and a lot of Americans are utterly starved for fresh opinion on it. Germany forbids almost any public discussion critical of Israel, much of which is punishable by imprisonment. Under pressure from the Tel Aviv lobby, the US has adopted a law making it illegal to boycott the country’s products, even those made in illegal settlements, on soil that is not theirs. (We illegally commented on that here because we illegally don’t like being muzzled). An article by Stephen Sizer appearing in Russia Insider was caustically critical of Christian Zionism. It has so far received 3,500 views and gotten page after page of reader comments. (Unfortunately, RI makes little or no effort to clean up the vile racist comments and crude cursing by obvious trolls keen on discrediting the site. But that doesn’t change the facts one bit). Trump was popular because he purported to be “non-PC” but he was only superficially so. There is an ultra PC, which covers both left and right. The most dangerous infraction against this ultra-PC today is touching the third rail of Israel. Anyone daring to challenge Israel’s murder and land grabbing is ultra-non-PC, and the real elites, of which Trump is one, may well come after you for daring to muck around in this radioactive area. Sizer is a pastor and uses the argument that Jesus taught love and therefore, Israel’s hard-line approach, which includes actually shooting children with live ammo, killing some, is not Christian. He does not, however, detail what the Bible says about Israel and the Jews in regard to Zionism. This is unfortunate because there are certain details in both Testaments that totally discredit Zionism. As far as I can tell, and without trying too hard to brag, the only site I have seen that uses such Biblical details to combat Zionism is ours. We use this approach because “Christian” Zionists, despite their rigid doctrinaire thinking, do pay attention to Jesus’ words. The arguments we have presented, and which other commentators omit, include: The prophesy in Ezekiel 37, overworked by “Christian” Zionists for 2 centuries now, says the resurrected Israel will obey God’s decrees and will have David as its king. No match between Ezekiel’s Israel and the Tel Aviv Israel. It is quite clear that the modern “Israel” cannot be the Israel of prophecy. In Matthew 23:39, Jesus, weeping over the Jerusalem that rejected and would kill him, says the city would never see him again until it declared “blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.” In other words, while these heretics claim that restoring Israel in secular form would somehow hasten the Second Coming, Jesus said He would not return until the Jews accept Him. Quite a difference between John Hagee’s view and Christ’s. Anyway, if you really want to call yourself a Christian, then instead of saying “I stand with Israel,” start saying “I stand with Jesus” or if you are really brave, “I stand with Palestine.” But be forewarned: you will not be treated nicely by the powers that be, even the ones pretending to be politically incorrect.
